Learn about the desert in an exciting new camp!
The Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens on the UTEP Campus will present “Camp Discovery,” a Spring Break Camp for children currently enrolled in 4th, 5th and 6th grades. The camp will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, March 10 through 14 at the Museum.
The theme for Camp Discovery will be “The Chihuahuan Desert.” Participants will learn about desert plants and animals, folklife and history, and desert fossils – including dinosaurs that roamed our mountains. Other topics will include water conservation, recycling and, of course, UTEP’s Centennial Celebration.
Camp fees are $40 per child. Fees cover all camp supplies, daily snacks, a T-shirt and an end-of-camp party. Participation is limited to first 25 children who enroll. Registration deadline is March 6, 2014.
