The Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens on the UTEP Campus will present “Camp Discovery;’ a Summer Camp for children who will be enrolled in 4th, 5th and 6th grades this coming fall. The camp will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. daily, July 14 to 18 at the Museum.
The theme for Camp Discovery will be “The Chihuahuan Desert:’ Participants will learn about desert plants and animals, folk life and history, and desert fossils – including dinosaurs that roamed our mountains. Other topics will include water conservation, recycling and, of course, UTEP’s Centennial Celebration.
Camp fees are $40 per child. Fees cover all camp supplies, daily snacks, aT-shirt and an end-of-camp party. Participation is limited to the first 20 children who enroll.
Registration deadline is July 9.
