Contractors Remove Fences, Open Geology Lawn

The fences that secured the Geology Lawn have been moved in toward the rest of the Centennial Plaza so students can walk around the decomposed granite pathway or lounge on the Bermuda grass.

Contractors have completed the excavation of the area between the Psychology Building and Heritage House and will proceed to compact and grade the site in preparation for the planned parking lot.

Other crews are grading, building forms and pouring concrete for the walkway to connect the Fox Fine Arts Center with the Geology and Psychology buildings. Landscapers have started to add sections of grass to the steps in front of the Psychology Building between the seating spaces. Workers expect to finish the decompressed granite sections of the pathways next to the lhakhang cultural center by Feb. 16, 2015.
