Members of the Miner Nation donated enough nonperishable food items to almost fill the UTEP Food Pantry’s shelves in Room 112 of Union Building West, home to the Student Engagement & Leadership Center. The Academic Advising Center staff organized the “Pick Away at Hunger” campus food drive.

The pantry, which is operated by Miner Connections, opened officially in fall 2015 and is ready to serve to students and staff. The recent food drive lasted through most of the month of February and ended at the Project MOVE rally on Feb. 27, 2016, at Kidd Field.

“It’s amazing all the food that was collected for the students,” said Espi Candelaria, a Miner Connections committee member. The pantry welcomes all nonperishable food donations. Information: 915-747-5291.
