The Texas Department of Transportation has scheduled some lane closures that will affect westbound traffic near The University of Texas at El Paso during the campus’ spring break. This part of TxDOT’s Spur 1966 project will focus on medians in the project zone.
Contractors plan to close the right lane of the westbound Schuster Avenue exit ramp (exit 18A) from the Spur 1966 overpass to the Schuster overpass from 6 a.m. Monday, March 9, through 6 a.m. Monday, March 16. Westbound travelers who wish to exit I-10 onto Schuster can use the Schuster flyover and turn right at the University Avenue roundabout to redirect south toward Schuster.
Crews also will shut down the two left westbound lanes between the Porfirio Diaz Street exit ramp and the Schuster overpass from 4 a.m. Saturday, March 14, through 6 p.m. Sunday, March 15.
The Spur 1966 project will connect Paisano Drive to Schuster Avenue at the roundabout on the south side of the UTEP campus.
