Professional Woman’s Magazine recently announced that it has rated The University of Texas at El Paso’s Master of Business Administration program as among the Best of the Best in the nation.

The Irvine, California-based publication, which promotes the advancement of multicultural women, based its findings on market research, independent research, diversity conference participation, and survey responses.

The magazine’s parent company, DiversityComm, polled hundred of institutions for its 2016 recognition and saluted those found to promote excellence and diversity.

“We commend them all,” the company said in a July 7, 2016, press release. The full results were published in the fall 2016 issue of Professional Woman’s Magazine, which is on newsstands now.

UTEP started its Master of Business Administration program in 1973 and graduated its first candidates the next year. Since then the program has expanded to meet the growing and varied needs of its students in the Paso del Norte region. More than 220 students from countries around the world are enrolled in three formats:  Accelerated MBA, Executive MBA and Full-Time MBA.

The program continues to look for ways to expand opportunities for people in this region through new modalities, new formats and new logistical organizational forms. The most recent example is the fast-track B.S./MBA program that initially was aimed at engineering undergraduates and has been expanded to include science majors. The college graduated its first B.S./MBA candidates during the spring 2016 Commencement.

This is the latest accolade for the MBA program. In May 2016, The Black EOE Journal rated the program as one of the nation’s best. It was ranked #1 by Hispanic Business magazine for best diversity practices from 2010 through 2015, and was named an Example of Excelencia for Graduate Programs in 2012 by Excelencia in Education.

UTEP’s College of Business Administration is the El Paso area’s only school accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – the premier international accrediting body for business schools.
