Kathryn Revtyak, a lecturer in the UTEP Department of Social Work, has been named 2015-2016 Social Worker of the Year by the Texas Chapter of the National Association (NASW) of Social Workers.

Revtyak was recognized for her outstanding commitment to social justice and her long record of service to migrants, refugees and persons who have experienced trauma.

The Social Worker of the Year Award honors a member of NASW/Texas who exemplifies the best of the profession’s values and achievements. In honoring the Social Worker of the Year, NASW highlights superb accomplishments in the practice of social work.
