The Socorro Independent School District and Col. John O. Ensor Middle School recognized UTEP’s Josefina V. “Josie” Tinajero, Ed.D., professor of education and special assistant to UTEP’s vice president of research, during the district’s annual Partners in Education luncheon April 17 at the Region 19 Head Start offices. Organizers gave Tinajero a plaque for her 27 years of service to the district through the Mother-Daughter/Father-Son program, which empowers education among students and their families.
