The State Bar of Texas Board of Directors approved a resolution on Friday, Sept. 16 in El Paso to honor UTEP’s Lisa J. Soto and her efforts to further diversity in the legal profession.

Soto, clinical associate professor in UTEP’s Patricia and Paul Yetter Law School Preparation Institute, also was honored for helping to advance pipeline programs to ensure young people of diverse backgrounds have clear paths to law school.

She also guides students in the law school application process.
