Contractors will close three lanes along Sun Bowl Drive closest to the Barry Hall demolition site from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 12 and 13, 2015, to create a safe work environment as crews continue to bring down the building’s west tower. The two northbound lanes and the left southbound lane will be shut down from approximately Kelly Hall to the University Avenue roundabout. Northbound traffic will be rerouted through the S-3 parking lot. Several S-3 parking spaces on the first row closest to the demolition that front Barry Hall also will be sectioned off. Flag men will be posted to help direct traffic. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes such as the University Avenue flyover off ramp from Interstate 10 west. The lane closures will not affect access to the IC-6 (red) parking lot or the underground Health Sciences and Nursing Building parking garage.
