Schuster’s two eastbound lanes will be blocked at Hawthorne as El Paso Water Utilities workers dig up a portion of the intersection to replace an 8-inch water line. Schuster’s two westbound lanes will be divided to allow traffic in both directions at the intersection. Motorists who use Schuster and Hawthorne are asked to proceed with caution.

Crews plan to work in the construction zone from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday, March 11, 2016. The work coincides with UTEP’s spring break. Crews will work in phases to replace the water line along Hawthorne to Rim Road. The complete project is expected to take about six weeks.

El Paso Water Utilities and the City of El Paso are overseeing the projects.
