UTEP Accounting Department Accreditation

webAACSB_logoThe Association for the Advancement of Colleges and Schools of Business (AACSB) recently renewed its accreditation of UTEP’s accounting program. The international association also has accredited the University’s business administration program.

“Less than 5 percent of the world’s approximately 10,000 business schools and colleges are eligible and able to earn both of these premier distinctions,” said Robert Nachtmann, DBA, dean of the college and the Betty M. MacGuire Distinguished Professor of Finance.

Nachtmann praised the department’s chair, Giorgio Gotti, Ph.D., associate professor of accounting, and all involved for successfully securing the Continuing Improvement Review for the accreditation, which adds value and prestige to UTEP’s business degrees.

“This success required diligent efforts on the part of the accounting faculty and staff,” Nachtmann said.

The AACSB provides global leadership in advancing management education. Its accreditation speaks to quality, excellence and continuous improvement in undergraduate and graduate education. It is the hallmark of excellence in management education.
