UTEP Closed Monday; MLK Program Scheduled Tuesday

The University of Texas at El Paso will be closed Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Students will return to campus Tuesday, Jan. 20 to begin the spring 2015 semester.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 20, the Office of Student Life and the Student Engagement and Leadership Center will host a volunteer fair for all UTEP students, faculty and staff.

At 11:45 a.m., UTEP community members will commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by reciting his I Have a Dream speech.

The volunteer fair, commemorative program, and display of a lifesize timeline highlighting King’s life and career will take place at the UTEP Union Plaza.
