UTEP College of Education graduate students Alejandra Sanchez and Beatriz Hernandez recently presented “Child-Parent Relationship Therapy with Hispanic Families” at the 33rd annual Association for Play Therapy International Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.

Sanchez and Hernandez, who represented the Department of Educational Psychology and Special Services, are among the first, if not the first, counseling students from The University of Texas at El Paso selected to present at this conference, said Sang Min Shin, Ph.D., assistant professor of counseling, who led the research team. The conference is the largest of its kind in the play therapy field.

The conference brought together more than 850 counselors, psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists and other mental health professionals from around the world to network, share ideas, and receive graduate-level training and education.
