UTEP Invites Local Community to Learn About Graduate School

With the goal of raising awareness of the benefits of graduate education, The University of Texas at El Paso invites the public to free Graduate Education Days events on campus Sept. 19 – 22 to learn more about the long-term impact of earning a master’s or doctoral degree.

The UTEP Graduate School is presenting a variety of workshops, informational sessions, and panel discussions geared towards community members considering the idea of returning to school, as well as current UTEP students looking to continue their education beyond undergraduate degrees. Topics will include choosing a program, preparing a strong application and funding your education.

“A graduate degree can be the key to open doors to higher level opportunities in education, business, industry, healthcare, technology, military, research, and non-profit sectors. Choosing to pursue a higher level of education brings recognition and credibility,” said Charles Ambler, Ph.D., dean of the Graduate School.

Events are as follows:
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, Tomas Rivera Conference Center in the UTEP Union: Informational workshops and panel discussions targeting residents of the region with presentations in English and Spanish.
  • Noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, Tomas Rivera Conference Center: Informational workshops and panel discussions targeting current UTEP students.
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, North Plaza of the UTEP Union: Informational exhibits from UTEP graduate programs, research labs and centers.
