UTEP Offers New MBA Certificate in Business Informatics for Healthcare

Current and prospective students in The University of Texas at El Paso’s College of Business Administration MBA program are invited to attend information sessions to learn more about how to earn a certificate in Business Informatics for Healthcare.

The information sessions will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 27 and noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 28 at the UTEP Graduate Business Center inside the Chase Tower in downtown El Paso, 201 E. Main, Suite 110.

The new certificate is being offered through a partnership between UTEP and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI).

This certificate gives UTEP Master of Business Administration students an opportunity to find career opportunities in the flourishing healthcare informatics industry.

“We are excited about this partnership because we are able to leverage the outstanding academic resources of the UTHSC School of Bioinformatics and make them available to our MBA students here,” said Laura Uribarri, assistant dean for academic programs in UTEP’s College of Business Administration.

UTEP MBAs who graduated in the last six years may also apply for the program.

The three courses that will be offered to UTEP MBAs will be provides online by SBMI faculty.

The deadline to apply for the courses is in March, with classes starting in the summer.
