The University of Texas at El Paso Department of Music will launch a new initiative to engage high school students who aspire to an operatic career, UTEP Opera Scholars.
This fall, four classical singers will be selected from El Paso area high schools to be UTEP’s first class of Opera Scholars. They will take part in a variety of events coordinated with UTEP’s opera program and become part of a community that can nurture and educate them in their quest for opera knowledge and experience.
