UTEP President Announces New Meritorious Service Award

To recognize outstanding achievement by staff and faculty members at The University of Texas at El Paso, President Diana Natalicio announced the inauguration of two new Meritorious Service Awards.

The awards recognize individuals and teams who have performed outstanding services to students, colleagues, and/or other University stakeholders, transcending their job expectations.

Community members, students, faculty, staff and alumni may submit nominations. The deadline for the first round of nominations is Friday, Aug. 12, 2016.

All members of UTEP’s classified, administrative and professional staff are eligible. Faculty members who have completed, upon nomination, at least seven years of service in a faculty role at UTEP are eligible.

Awards for individuals will consist of a cash prize of $1,000 per award in addition to a commemorative plaque. Team awards will include a commemorative plaque and a $1,000 cash prize directed toward a collective activity or charitable cause at the discretion of the winning team.

The President will present the awards during the annual UTEP Service Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Office of Human Resources, on Oct. 11, 2016. More information about the award and the nomination process can be found online at www.utep.edu/meritoriousservice.
