What: UTEP’s College of Education Spring 2016 Teacher Job Fair

When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016

Where: UTEP’s Don Haskins Center

Representatives from 86 school districts from California to Indiana will participate in The University of Texas at El Paso’s College of Education Spring 2016 Teacher Job Fair.

This annual event – the biggest of the year in terms of participants and districts – is open to UTEP’s student teachers, recent graduates and members of the community who have a teaching credential. The school districts represented will be from Texas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

The event is a popular stop for districts, especially those that cater to bilingual and bicultural student populations, said Cyndi Giorgis, Ph.D., dean of the College of Education.

“This teacher job fair provides students with an opportunity to meet personally with school district representatives who will be ready to conduct interviews and possibly offer initial contracts,” said Giorgis, who advises participants to bring plenty of copies of their updated resumes and to dress professionally. “It is a great opportunity for our students and graduates.”

The job fair will be broken into morning and afternoon sessions. Employers will take a lunch break from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants may park in the R3 (green) remote lot north of the Haskins Center.
