UTEP to Host 3rd Annual Rookie Entrepreneur Program

Students from Bowie, Del Valle and San Elizario high schools will participate in the 3rd annual Rookie Entrepreneur Program (REP) the week of July 18 at The University of Texas at El Paso. The purpose of this weeklong program is to expand the minds of young students in the areas of business and entrepreneurship. The curriculum has been enhanced beyond what was offered at previous REP camps that lasted two days.

The 2016 camp will offer insights into finance, pitching, research, marketing, accounting, management and fund seeking, as well as mentoring opportunities with guest entrepreneurs. Classes will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in various UTEP buildings, but participants will end with a golf/networking outing from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Ascarate Golf Course, 6900 Delta Drive. This program is designed and implemented by the Mike Loya Center for Innovation and Commerce and the Center for Hispanic Entrepreneurship through UTEP’s College of Business Administration.
