Air conditioning in many buildings impacted during spring break

031014plazawaterUTEP is upgrading the infrastructure across campus as part of our Campus Transformation. During UTEP’s spring break scheduled for March 10-14, contractors will begin replacing the hot and cold hydronic lines, which control the cooling and heating systems, in several buildings across campus. The work is scheduled to begin Friday, March 7.

The following buildings will be impacted: Academic Advising Center, Administration Building, Bioscience Research Building, Education Building, Fox Fine Arts Center, Geological Sciences Building, Graham Hall, Holliday Hall, Magoffin Auditorium, Old Main, Physical Sciences Building, Prospect Hall, Psychology Building, Quinn Hall, Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts/Seamon Hall, Union Complex and Vowell Hall.

Air conditioning in these buildings will not be at full strength during this period.

The UTEP Data Center at the Union Complex will remain operational throughout the work.

As part of the UTEP Potable Water System, the domestic water system will shut down starting Tuesday, March 11, in the following buildings: Fox Fine Arts Center, Magoffin Auditorium, Prospect Hall, Quinn Hall and Seamon Hall. As a result of this shutdown, restrooms in these buildings will not be operational until 5 p.m. March 13.

All work will be completed during spring break, and the campus will be operating as normal when classes resume on Monday, March 17.
