UTEP Women’s Basketball Finalizes 2014-15 Schedule

EL PASO, TEXAS – The UTEP women’s basketball team has finalized its 2014-15 schedule with the release of the 2015 Conference USA slate by head coach Keitha Adams Wednesday.

Season tickets for the 2014-15 season continue to be available for purchase. Fans may call (915) 747-6150 or e-mail seasontickets@utep.edu to secure theirs today. For the first time in program history the reserved floor seats are sold out but fans may purchase a general admission season ticket for only $60. Another option is the “Family Pack” (2 adults, 2 youth, ages 2-12) for just $150.

“We’re excited to announce our Conference USA schedule,” Adams said. “It will be a very competitive league from top to bottom, and we will have to be ready to go play a full 40 minutes every time out.”

The Miners will play 18 league contests for the initial occasion since 2004-05, when they were members of the Western Athletic Conference. UTEP will have home-and-home series with Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Rice, Southern Miss, and UTSA while playing Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, FIU, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion, UAB and Western Kentucky once.

The 18-game docket is the most in the league’s 19-year history, and the men’s and women’s schedules mirror one another. Additionally, aside from the opening weekend (Friday and Sunday), games will be contested on Thursday and Saturday. That is a change from last year for the women, whose had competed on Wednesday and Saturday during conference action.

For the first time since 2010-11, the Orange and Blue will tip off league play at home. UTEP will play host to North Texas (Jan. 2) and Rice (Jan. 4) in the opening weekend of C-USA action, affording it a pair of home contests to christen conference play for the initial occurrence since 2009-10.

Other home contests on the C-USA docket include UTSA (Jan. 17), Western Kentucky (Jan. 22), Marshall (Jan. 24), Florida Atlantic (Feb. 5), FIU (Feb. 7), Louisiana Tech (Feb. 26) and Southern Miss (Feb. 28).

UTEP will get things going on the road with a two-game swing the second week of January by playing at Louisiana Tech (Jan. 8) and Southern Miss (Jan. 10). Other tilts in hostile territory include match-ups at UAB (Jan. 29), at defending league champion Middle Tennessee (Jan. 31), at Charlotte (Feb. 12), at Old Dominion (Feb. 14), at UTSA (Feb. 21), at North Texas (March 5) and at Rice (March 7).
